Maya Angelou once said, "Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning." Thanks for joining me on this journey towards discovering my voice as a survivor, mother, wife and friend. In 2003 I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy (a type of heart failure). The fear of dropping dead or undergoing a heart transplant consumed every part of me. I was quickly spiraling into a deep depression fearful of becoming another statistic. Rather than giving up and succumbing to my disease, I fought! My determination to let go of unnecessary stress in my life, along with the support of my amazing family and friends led me to where I am today. Fearless and ready to inspire!!
I created Voices to Share as a forum for sharing inspirational stories, tips on reduced stress and healthy living, and really anything else that inspires me as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend... From recipes and breath work techniques to fun beauty tips from contributors, Voices to Share will inspire your soul and your overall look.
Apart from blogging and hosting Voices to Share webisodes, I am a freelance television host, I am also committed to promoting awareness for heart disease and heart healthy living. I am a trained WomenHeart Champion, a spokesperson for the American Heart Association, and the mother of two beautiful little girls.
