I was over at my friends house the other day and saw a package of Skinny Pop Popcorn. She was raving about this low calorie snack. I'm always looking for heart healthy products, and was shocked when I found an article on one of my favorite websites, Livestrong. The article is called Popcorn & Heart Disease. It talks about how popcorn is a whole grain food that contains traces of vitamins and minerals. Now it's important to know the difference between popcorns. Movie theater popcorn is terrible for you. High in sodium and if you add that butter, talk about clogging your arteries!
Skinny Pop Popcorn is 39 calories per cup with zero trans fats. I love it when the ingredients are simple. This is all natural popcorn, sunflower oil and salt. Almost like homemade popcorn! Just so you're aware, it has some sodium but way less than that other microwavable stuff. It was the perfect snack this afternoon for my girls and me.
In full disclosure, Skinny Pop sent me samples for this review.
