Fruit Snacks

If you ask my kids about their favorite foods, they'll say fruit.  Just like their mommy!  So when you're looking for a healthy snack, check out what 100 calories of fruit looks like (thanks to one of my favorite websites, FitSugar).  I always try and add a little protein with my fruit.  My favorite is almond butter with banana or apple.  Or a little greek yogurt with berries is the perfect pick me up.  Just don't go crazy because fruit is still sugar.  It's the perfect summer treat.  Oh, my girlfriend froze watermelon the other day for a snack.  Amazing and heart healthy!!

  1. My kids enjoy freezing green grapes for little mini grape-sicles. My favorite snack is 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries in just enough skim milk to cover them. The milk freezes and the berries thaw, and it makes a lovely icy dessert.
