Tony Robbins - The Power of Goals
Today's exercise is about the power of setting goals. Every six months I make my husband sit down and listen to this Tony Robbins speech. Reluctantly, he'll pull out his piece of paper. Once we start writing about personal, career, adventure and philanthropic goals we can't stop. In approaching this exercise, just like the vision board and gratitude journal, it's important to let go of all preconcieved notions and let your imagination run wild. Afterwards, sit down together and discuss your goals. You'll be amazed by one another's list.
One of the most difficult tasks in life is figuring out who you are and what you want from life. We tyipcally fall into a pattern of what feels easy and secure. Often times, it's this pattern that makes us miserable and sick. In writing these goals, think about how you can break the cycle of what you've been told to do with your life and start pursuing your life path. Take small steps and you'll be amazed. When you're authentically grateful and honest you will feel energized. In addition to this Tony Robbins exercise, I will write down my goals list once a week and once a month to make sure I'm on track. Happy goal setting!
